Today, the Academy Organ Studio took part in lessons and masterclasses with Professor Todd Wilson of the Cleveland Institute of Music. It was a ton of fun to be coached by such a talented musician, brilliant teacher, and – equally important – great guy! Receiving feedback and ideas for repertoire is some of the most fun I have in music; a fresh perspective helps to bring my vision for the piece to fruition. It is experiences such as this that remind me of how fortunate and grateful I am to live and study at IAA. Photos of the event are on the photos page.
I also hope you can join me Friday for the premiere of Tevan Goldberg’s “Biocentric” for organ. It will be webcast live on Interlochen’s website.
